Description
The Hoot Flute™ is easy to use. In the spring, sounding like an owl can very often entice a gobbler to give away his location by gobbling back at you. You can then move closer and, using turkey talk, lure the gobbler into range.
The Barred Owl’s basic call is an eight-note call having the same rhythm as if you were saying, “who cooks for you, who cooks for you all”. The Great Horned Owl’s basic call is a six-note call, having the same rhythm as if you were saying, “Who cooks for you, who, who”. You will want to try many variations of this basic call in order to entice a gobbler to give away his location by gobbling at your hoot. This works best in the early morning before a gobbler has left the roost, mid-morning and at dusk.
